We depart from the hotel 9 am
Our first stop will be the Kachikally Crocodile Pool, which is known for it healing powers, people from different part of The Gambia still visit this holy place, and is home to roughly 80 to 100 West African crocodiles, the crocodiles are docile and you can actually touch them and take photos with them. Onsite there is also a museum that displays Gambian history, traditional musical instruments, artifacts, photographs, masks and ancient tool. The museum gives visitors opportunity to truly understand the culture traditions and history of the people of The Gambia.



A short drive away we will find the Serekunda Market, which is the largest and most vibrant commercial hub in The Gambia, it not just a market it a living museum of Gambian daily life. Here you can find everything imaginable. The market is divided into three different sections, one for food, one for clothing, and one for all other kind of items, such as household goods, fresh tropical fruits, vegetables, electronics, bike, repair kits, and even live music, there is also a small section for handcrafted souvenirs, but if this is your main objective, we would suggest a trip to the Brikama Wood Carving market, or to the Albert Market in Banjul instead.
The market is active daily the energy is high and the colors endless, and is built like a labyrinth of small, crowded, alleys. Serekunda Market is one of our most appreciated trip destinations.
After the market we will proceed to Lamin Lodge to embark on a dugout canoe. We will drift through tidal bolongs (creeks) of the River Gambia and along the way we will see colorful birds and local women in small canoes, harvesting oysters from the mangrove roots, a traditional practice that adds a unique cultural element to the trip, we will visit a gigantic tree called the elephant tree or silk cotton tree, which stood strong for generations. It a great spot for photos, this tree is not just big it carries stories culture, and we will visit a local factory where shells are processed into cement and paint.



The next stop on this tour is the woodcarving factory in Brikama. This is the largest woodcarving factory in the Gambia and it has over 50 stalls and around 200 members. Here you can find various items made from different wood types, but also vibrant tie dye fabrics, handmade leather sandals, and traditional jewellery.
We will continue our journey to Paradise Beach, which is considered the most beautiful beach in the Gambia. This spot is all about relaxation and you can enjoy the beach, take a refreshing swim, and get a free sunbed. The Rainbow restaurant serve food and drinks for those who want that. After relaxing for 2.5 hours we will continue to Tanji fishing village, which is only a short drive away.
Tanji will be our final stop for the day. The Tanji Fishing hub is one of the most vibrant and culturally rich sites in The Gambia. We will see hundreds of people gathered on the shore, fishermen hauling in heavy nets, women expertly haggling over prices, and porters carrying overflowing baskets of fish on their heads from the surf to the stalls. fishermen from across The Gambia, Senegal, Guinea, and beyond all coming together in one place. Different languages, different tradition, one shared purpose. to hustle to survive. We will also see the traditional narrow brightly painted wooden boats on the beach, and we will visit the sheds where fish are smoked and preserved.
After the tour we will drive back to your hotel with lot of fun memories to take back with you!
